Children's Celebration
With a nod to the nipperkins and their
parents, all children twelve and under will have free admission this
weekend! Children are not only our hope for the future, but their free
spirits and open imaginations remind us to stop and play. We want to
acknowledge their gifts to us by providing a day of wonder for them...
and a break for Mom and Dad. Children's activities and shows will be
highlighted, so gather the gang and give them a day they will always
remember!
July 17 & 18
Romance Rendezvous
Summer isn't right without a little romance. Return to romance and
adventure in Renaissance England on this special rendezvous for
lovers. Attend our Renewal of Vows Ceremony at the Chapel. Treat your
paramour to a Lovers' Picnic Basket at the Bad Dog Tavern, see
Shakespeare himself present the "Lunatic, the Lover, and the Poet," or
dally in the lanes with a host of colorful local characters from
Warwickshire who are smitten with Cupid's arrow this day.
July 24 & 25
Pirate Invasion
Yaar!! Those pirates are back again!! Pirates are invading the Shire with swashbuckling adventure, comedy and song. Join our Pirate Costume Competition for kids and adults; raise a glass of grog in the Bad Dog Tavern's Pirate Revel; see a pirate swordplay show at the new Festival Stage. Pirate bands will rove, shanties will be sung, and very little honest work shall be done.
July 31 & August 1
Highland Fling
Thrill to the lilt of Highland bagpipes in the hills. Wear your kilt and celebrate the mighty Scots with us. Hear Scottish pipe bands; see Highland dancing; watch Highland games and demonstrations.
August 7 & 8
Fantasy Weekend
Come celebrate Midsummer with us as the town of Warwick pays tribute to
the myths and legends of Old England. Sprites, Fairies, Witches, and
Robin Goodfellow himself will be seen in a masquerade of folkloric
characters, and you may come as you please. Stories, entertainments
and pageants will all serve to appease the inhabitants of the unseen
world that surrounds the woodlands of Warwickshire. Who knows who will
show up? Shakespeare's, A Midsummer Night's Dream will play the boards too, as music, mischief, and mystery rule!
August 14 & 15
Wine Lovers' Weekend
Come crush a grape with us on our second Wine Lovers' Bacchanal. Taste special wines and meads at our pubs, or sit down for a flight of wine and plate of breads and cheeses at the Bad Dog Tavern. See our Grape Stomping Competition at the new Festival Stage. Come toast to another wondrous season at the Sterling Renaissance Festival!
